Esi,
is a Nashville-born songwriter whose sound traces its lineage from modern alternative R&B, Afrobeats, Jazz, Gospel, and Roots. As an artist, she’s opened for artists nationally: Kirk Franklin, The Roots, Gary Clark Jr., CimaFunk and Red Clay Strays. She’s performed internationally at venues like the Blue Note Tokyo, The Fillmore, The Grand Ole Opry, Brooklyn Parlor (Tokyo), Santa Fe Opera House, The Fisher Center for Performing Arts, among many others . A YoungArts songwriting alumna and NAfME songwriting award winner, she continues to pen songs for herself and others, most recently gaining cuts on Element by Sheldon Smith and Wine on Venus with Grace Bowers & The Hodge Podge. Her songs spur from the things we don’t say out loud and take hold in the hearts of many. At just 22 years old, Esi continues to be a force in the world of songwriting, working on behalf of songwriters like herself with The Recording Academy ©. Her love for performance and live music informs her arrangements and serves as a testament to Jesus, as she believes the gift of music comes from God above.
